PEER-to-PEER is a nine-week education course for people recovering from Brain Disorders. The course is taught by others who are in the process of the same recovery.
PEER-to-PEER creates a highly supportive, time-limited, learning community among its participants who are encouraged - but not required - to attend mutual FREE support groups before, during, and after attending the Peer-to Peer Education Course.
PEER-to-PEER participants are exposed to ideas and given tools and opportunities to learn what they individually need to know about their mental illnesses. The program does not spoon-feed its participants. Instead, it offers them a buffet of concepts and ideas from which they may choose. There are NO tests.
PEER-to-PEER speaks clearly of the emotional truth that the experience of mental illness, is oftern one of trauma. The course provides a guided and supported opportunity to work toward healing from that trauma.
LEARN all about the Biology of the Brain Disorders
PEER to PEER is not Therapy. It is a nine-week free educational course for people recovering from Brain Disorders. Peer to Peer students learn background information on their illnesses, what is expected in recovery, and exercises that may be used to change their mental focus to gain relief from negative thought patterns.
The Course is presented by a Team of "Mentors" who, themselves, are going through the recovery process.
The Course is made up of nine two-hour segments with each class building on the previous week's material.
There are NO tests, only RESULTS!
